Geolocation box
A geolocation box is a device used to collect information about the positioning of the object in which it is installed, like the GPS tracker. In most cases, it is a vehicle. Its main function is to locate the car using geolocation technology, better known as GPS nowadays.
The geolocation device is equipped with a receiver and transmitter. The receiver locates the position of the car thanks to the signal emitted by satellites which, thanks to a triangulation calculation, will allow to obtain the geographical coordinates, such as the latitude and longitude of the vehicle. The information is then transmitted to a remote server via the internet or mobile phone networks. The travel tracking can then be done from a PC or smartphone, which will have the purpose of displaying the vehicle on a map. In addition to location, the geolocation box also provides other information, such as mileage traveled, consumption, downtime or routes tracked. If you set safe zones and no-go zones, you will receive an SMS alert when the car enters or exits those areas.
