Camera trap

Definition

A camera trap or camera trap is a device that allows, as its name suggests, to trap a person or animal that passes in front of it, by triggering a photo or video. Also often called a hunting camera, these devices have a motion detector that can capture a movement of heat mass. They have the ability to make photos and videos, day and night. Several categories of people use a trap camera. First there are hunters who want to monitor the movements of their game, scientists or nature lovers who want to analyze the habits of animals, or even individuals.

The location is very important. Indeed, it is a matter of attaching the hunting camera in a place where no obstacle will interfere with the angle of view. So be careful about the foliage, bushes and other branches that can cause photos to miss because of their movement.

Autonomy

As far as the battery is concerned, the majority of devices run on LR6 batteries, with at least 4 batteries. The best thing would be to equip yourself with 8 batteries, if you want, among other things, a greater battery life in sleep mode. In general, when a photographic trap is in standby mode, its battery can reach 6 months.
