Intercom for motorcycle
The motorcycle intercom is a motorcycle communication equipment. It allows you to hear and be heard while driving. The standard intercom offers several basic features, including the ability to communicate with other people also equipped with the same device. When paired with another intercom, it will work like a walkie-talkie.
There are two types of intercoms. The first is the intercom for pilot and passenger. It is usually sold in duplicate in the same box. Its range is quite small and the two devices are compatible with each other. The second is the motorcycle-to-motorcycle intercom, which has a much larger range, 700 metres and more. It allows you to connect with multiple bikes at once for group communication. Note that not all intercom models allow a conference mode. It may happen that a motorcycle intercom can be paired with multiple intercoms, but does not offer the possibility of a group discussion.
The intercom also offers practical features such as phone, GPS and music. Connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth, the device gives you the ability to receive calls or make calls with easy-to-operate controls. In addition, thanks to a specific Bluetooth profile that allows audio transmission, you can listen to music or radio. You will also benefit from the navigation instructions of your GPS directly in your motorcycle helmet.
In general, the autonomy of an intercom on standby is one week or more. But the communication is considerably smaller. Manufacturers often give a term as an indication, but it can vary depending on how you use it. For example, a telephone conversation is more energy efficient than a conversation Intercom. The same goes for music.
