IP Cam
The IP cam or IP camera is a device watching a place that operates autonomously and transmits images locally or to a remote server. So you can see video streams from a viewing monitor, computer or even a smartphone.
The IP camera has a motion sensor that lets you put the device to sleep mode to save battery life. When movements are detected, it triggers the video or photo recording that it will instantly transmit to you by email, web platform or mobile application, or store on a micro SD card. To allow you day and night surveillance, it is also equipped with night vision. This is possible thanks to infrared LEDs. The distance of night vision depends on the model, but the best performers offer 10 meters or more.
The IP cam comes in two versions, namely, the one for indoor use and the one for outdoor use. Outdoor models are weather-resistant and are designed to be attached to the wall or ceiling. Indoor IP cameras are usually placed on a piece of furniture, but exceptions remain. Depending on your needs, you can opt for a fixed or motorized IP camera. The latter is remotely controllable. PTZ control allows you to move the camera lens to scan the horizon. Most IP cameras have a standard image resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. However, it is possible to find a 720P resolution that will distinguish the smallest details from the subjects. You also have the choice between a wired or wireless camera. The first works thanks to a wired installation while the second ensures a transmission of image streams via the internet.
