Walkie-talkie frequency
For one Walkie talkie, frequency allows the establishment of a communication network. It also influences the extent of reception of the device. In terms of walkie-talkie, frequency bands are categorized into 9 categories, ranging from the lowest, the ELF between 300 Hz and 3kHz, to the most powerful, the EHF between 30 GHz and 300 GHz. The Talkies use the free frequency PMR446, which is very popular and used by anyone throughout Europe. The aircraft operating with the PMR446 range from 446,000 Mhz to 446,100 Mhz. Its range will vary between 80 meters and 1 kilometer depending on the circumstances. Other free frequency bands exist depending on the country for amateur radio. For the United States the free frequency is FRS 462.
As for the professional walkie-talkie, it can also communicate with the PMR446, but in general, it uses a frequency reserved in UHF or VHF. This ranges from 30 MHz to 3 GHz. The frequency is allocated by the ARCEP to allow the establishment of public or private networks and is subject to the annual fee payment. Much more powerful than for the leisure walkie-talkie, the frequency of professional walkie-talkie can emit 5 W. This offers considerable scope, but also secure communication.
